PNW as in Washington or Oregon?

I love the inland Northwest as in Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and Western Montana.

Hunted and Fished all over there when I was young , love Wyoming too just hate winter!

Traveled around for about a year. Found a nice property in Oregon with a few acres, pond, etc at a price we could barely afford, but so glad we did.

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

38 and looking to retire, due a sum of money and have other income from rentals/ranching ect… Problem is there are lots of things I want to do and it cost money, so I am fairly certain its not an option. Plenty of irons in the fire so it wouldn't be like I was sitting at home each day. I would just be doing the things I pay others to do already, just on my own time. These office walls continue to close in each day. 6-8 more years is probably more like it but I can always sit here and dream.

What kind of monthly income makes retirement enjoyable? I know its relative.

I will just die at work and leave my kids/grand-kids a big check. Makes more sense to me...

It's worth a little more to me to live in Texas. Texas born and I'll be here to my last breath. Been all over the USA and several country's, nice places to visit but none came close to my home, Texas.

I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed.

Chris - I'm in about the same boat as you. 54 next month and thinking about 5 more years (which will be when my son gets out of law school if he goes, which he is saying he plans to do), but I want to (like right now) semi-retire and work for the clients I want to work for, when I want to work, and spend the rest of the time marketing my title company for some additional income. I am pretty sure I could keep myself VERY occupied in retirement, but having the money to afford things like my crazy-high property taxes on my home keep me needing to work.

I'm hoping to semi-retire in another year or two. Thinking about peddling some woodcraft and hitting some shows. My brother retired a few years ago. He stays pretty darn busy doing odds and ends work for absentee homeowners on the coast.
