I just retired from 20 years of being a police officer. As a retirement gift to myself, I’m going to book a trip to Anglers Inn on El Salto. I’m looking for some advise on the best time of year to go and what to expect! Any advise would be appreciated...

You must book now; as they fill up fast. I like the month of Feb.. The Full Moon is on the 9th. The larger fish will be making a move on that date and 3 days after. See if they have the schedule of the net removal. Unless it has changed the nets are in for 9 days and out for 9 days. You want to be there in the middle of those days when the nets are out. Please send me a PM. for other options.

Yes definitely try to avoid those nets if you can. They have a weird arrangement set up with the tilapia guys, similar to what Donald said. They are very frustrating to fish around though.

They will exceed all of your expectations. It is really an impressive operation they have going there. Obviously they can't guarantee the fish are going to bite, but everything else will blow your expectations out of the water. Bring everything except rods (unless you want to). They provide those so you don't have to deal with flying with them (St Croix Mojo Bass/Bass X rods).
