Our bass club (Bayou Bassin League) held our championship on Lake Somervile today and we won thanks to a fat kicker! She hit a topwater in an area right where she was supposed to be at dawn (shallow water near a drop off) then we finished off our limits elsewhere. Probably the largest bass I have caught on top in a long time. Anyways, now we will be going to Lake Hartwell to fish the Bassmaster team championship in December. Bet that topwater bite got your heart started Congrats and enjoy Hartwell! So I was twitching away and a bass blew up and missed my bait but crazy as it sounds it sat there near the surface after missing my bait and was looking for it when she came up beside him and took it. That was something to see!
