All non employer insurance is expensive Obamacare is an expensive joke. You won’t have reasonably priced non employer insurance until you are on Medicare and Medicare supplements and that is still going to be about $400 per month or at least close for really good coverage.

Medicare is directly paid for by a tax. There is no trust fund and one is not paying for future access. In the future when one needs it it will be paid by those then working. Before anyone brings it up it is not the same as FICA.

I do.

The big difference between what I paid while working for Citi vs my current gig is that at my current company everyone pays the same rates. Regardless of salary. At the bank rates were on a sliding scale dependant on your salary.

I was paying much more than somebody who was answering phones or opening mail and making $13 an hour.

Which system is more fair or Equitable? I don't really know. But I know which one works better for me personally.

My Wife's company has a rule that if your spouse can get insurance through their place of employment, then you have to go with it. A lot of companies are doing this, I guess, to save money. I had United Healthcare until I got laid off. My Wife put me back on her Blue Cross/ Blue Shield because the small company I now work for doesn't offer any. We are going to save $160 a month.

Be safe,

Our insurance for family is crazy high. I need some options.

Bend over 1Shot..... it is a scam and a rip off even if you have employer.
Retired employee insurance ..114$ a month 3k deductible choice of doctors...very affordable prescriptions decent dental and vision. Feel pretty good about it considering the alternatives.

You riding a good deal? They do not exist anymore. The more money you make .... the more they take.

I do! It’s great! I’ve got all kinds of great benefits, including good, low cost to me health insurance with low deductibles, low cost to me to me dental, low cost to me vision, free to me life insurance and a very liberal paid time off schedule, plus all federal holidays and the days off from Christmas Eve to January 2. I also get paid a very good but not great salary and get annual bonuses. And I get to work from home.

You have no idea what you’re talking about, per usual.

Yes. My company pays my medical, dental and vision 100%. I pay $143 a month for my daughter for medical, $11 for dental and $3.50 for vision. That’s the $500 PPO plan too. My wife’s company pays her medical, dental and vision.
