Put your wife in the back seat. When I bought my truck, rear seat legroom was the least of my considerations.

good for you. my wife rides in front and I wouldn't own any other truck.

Funny, I got 138k out of my last Chevy before I sold it, but the garbage Ford I had lost the trans in less than 6 months. Ford = suck.

I am a tundra guy, but if those 2 were my only choices, I am going with the Ford. GM still owes me and the American taxpayers a ton of money!!

Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.

Well yeah fords might suck worse but this last truck just left a bad taste in my mouth for chevy's. I had a transmission go out and i mentioned it to someone and they said "my husband works for Chevy and they design them to go out at 130k." Never mentioned how many miles i had (132k) but seemed like too much of a coincidence to not have some truth to it.

Considering the thread at the bottom is about chevys being recalled for faulty brakes... I’d go with ford.

All things considered I’ve got it narrowed down to a 2019 F150 XLT 4WD and a 2019 1500 LT Texas Edition 4WD. Thoughts and opinions? Price is about the same - Chevy has a couple more bells and whistles.

Leaning towards the Ford because we are also upgrading the wife’s Cherokee to an Explorer and it’d be easier to do a one stop in and out for both vehicles. Chevy won’t deal enough to make a Tahoe work and she hates the traverse.

Appreciate the feedback on the trucks. Only Chevy I’ve owned was my first vehicle - a ‘84 K5...had a ‘06 F150 for a little while and a 06’ F250 for a shorter while (got stolen and I sold it when it was recovered two weeks later).

(I know there are some dealers on here - can't remember who - feel free to shoot me a PM - I'd love to give you a shot on this deal)

The important thing is that you're ditching the Ram.

There's a song about dudes that drive Ram trucks. Look on YouTube for a tune called "Ram Ranch".

Speaking of recalls...

Will likely replace my 2011 F150 next year. Anyone have experience with the Ford 3.0 diesel?

Think you'll be happy with either one, they're both very nice vehicles. I have 130k on a 2013 f150 with the 5.0. Oil changes, rotations and filters every 7.5k miles, one new battery at 70k, one rear differential seal replacement at 80k, new tires at 100k (expensive highway Michelin's last a long time), new brakes at 120k.

Only serious problem I've had was the lug nuts... of all things. Don't know if this is still the case on late models, but the two-piece lug nuts they put on early 2010's models eventually deform and it can be ---- getting them off. Just something to check. If it has two-piece nuts, replace them immediately.

Other than that, it's been a wonderful vehicle for daily driving and towing. I'll certainly put 250k on it before replacing.

None of the above, tundra is the only truck that won’t fall apart at 50,000 miles and the motor won’t blow up if you put more than a lawnmower on a single axle trailer behind it.

In all honesty, get the ford, that ecoboost is a bad machine (get the 3.5 not the 2.7). A 5000-6000 lb boat feels like it’s barely back there cruising down the road at 75. They’re reliable, oil changes and other routine maintenance are cheap. The small displacement under the hood makes them easy to work on. The ford is a good looking truck too. I’m a ford guy and won’t change, they hit it out of the park with this one.

I don't get too invested in truck/boat brand pissing matches but I have zero complaints with the GM vehicles we have bought the last 5-8 yrs. Between the wife and I and our kids it's been plenty bought. They have all been very dependable including 4-5 Silverados. Love the layout and they pull the boat great. Pretty comfortable on road trips too. Have yet to have a better cat buying experience than with Monte Coon at Moritz. He treats people right.

Good luck in whatever you choose. Enjoy it.

I don't know of anyone who drives their vehicle from the back seat.

Wilt Chamberlain did.
