I have done my own studies on fluoro the last 8-10 years by using it in my fishing. My own personal experience is that it's worth it to me for most of my fishing. Far outperforms mono in most situations. Could not imagine not using it.

Thanks for sharig, some of the same results I found testing it. I still prefer my old time copoly McCoys Mean Green. To each his or her own, though. Good luck and Good fishing. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I agree with "The Mikes" and I still keep spools of McCoys in the boat for some of the rods, as a matter of fact, had some of both my Tackle Warehouse purchase this morning

I don't think it really busts any myths." Study" is 12 years old, Fluoro has come a long way. Poorly written with little information on Method of Testing.

I like Invizx and PLine Halo fluorocarbon lines. I use McCoys for shallow to medium diving crank baits. I use P Line CXX when I need a very strong line but rarely use over 15# test in CXX because of the memory.

Some of us think (and know) that FC line is over rated when everything is factored in but ultimately it just turns into an argument because some (maybe many) guys legitimately favor it as opposed to those that use it because that is what is being promoted. Some of the biggest name pros; such as KVD and others, were on record and promoting FC line attributes that were found out to be complete BS. Examples being line stretch and durability.
Fluoro vs other line, talon vs power poles, ranger vs whatever boat, chevy vs ford
Not a highly recommended read but John Warren's book "Fishing with Confidence" gives some good & real information about the fluorocarbon line myths and the bs marketing behind it.
Last comment: I definitely would not say the BS on fluorocarbon line is as bad as - lets say: the hydrowave, the pretty trolling motor nut that increases vibration or the completely useless Oxygenator

I use FC mainly because mono has too much memory. That said, when I hang up on 15 lb big game, it’s hell getting it to break. When I hang up 15lb invisx, it’s almost too easy to break. Say what you want about knots and bla bla. Bottom line, big game is much stronger, and that’s coming from someone who uses mostly floro. I don’t have too many issues with floro as far as setting the hook and getting fish to the boat is why I still use FC.

I use fluorocarbon for all my senko / fluke fishing and for my leaders on my braid fishing. If I’m in clear water I might use it a little more but that’s about it. Big Game is my go to for top water, spinner bait, crank bait ect. I fish Rayburn 90% of the time.

my fishing results improved when I started using "the new stuff" . The only problem I had was understanding not to use it on light weight top waters.

If line strength is your #1 then don't bother with anything other than heavy braid but that's not the point of it. Bait performance, memory, stealth, are all highly important qualities in fishing and FC fits the bill in MANY situations. If you don't have confidence in FC then that's one thing, entirely personal, but line strength really shouldn't be a concern for anything under 12#. It's 12# for heaven's sake. It shouldn't have the ability to pull a stump out of the ground in order to get your crank bait back.
If you can't find em wind em.

Coming from the fly fishing world into bait casting for bass I will always use fluoro. Like the Pline myself.

There is no best line. They all have good and bad attributes. All personal preference. I have several with mono, several with fluoro and several with braid
