Dead Batteries did me in this morning. Fishin tough for me lately but there are some good ones in there. Fish the Usual patterns for a shallow lake and it will get you some fish in the boat. Water clarity excellent right new for LH.

Went this morning for the first time in a long while. That lake kicked my butt.

I've ran the lake from Duessen up to the east fork. Just use some sense. If you have a GPS follow the river channel and you'll be fine. It does get a little hairy north of the railroad bridge.

Saw a bass boat today high center on bottom trying to run the flat into the east fork. He had to be pulled off by another boat while the occupants of the high centered boat were out pushing the boat also.

Yes you either need a flats boat or you had better know how to follow that river chanel. Its worth it to learn. Some great catches way up the east fork. Bigger but way fewer fish from west fork.

He hit the flat on the point at the mouth of east fork I assume? That point comes WAY out

He was in the middle of the big flat where everyone used to run to go in and out of the river. About 150 yards south of the island.

Yep. I hit that same flat first time on lake after the floods. Learned not to do that. It’s huge and only inches deep.

Yah we are running a 22 majek.. sort of considered a flats boat I guess. Last time I was there there were channel markers running up the east fork. But really from my experience, if you get north of the railroad bridge or out of Luce bayou, you better know where you're going. Even the mouth of Luces you can mess up pretty easy

Mouth of Lucas is worse than mouth of east fork now in my opinion. People shoved cane stakes down and that even makes it more confusing. You have to make a crazy S now to run in and out.
