And waiting for permission from the city to put buildings up. Going to happen. What can they do? Come by and tear them down?

Did you get a permit for the foundation?
If you put them up the City can make you take them down; and if they come and do it they send you a very expensive bill (ans possibly a lien against your house until you pay it).

uhhhh, yep. have watched it happen a couple of times, no permit and inspector got an earfull, week later they had to start over.

Slab was already here. I applied for a carport on the front. The building in the back can just happen at the same time. Ill say it was already there.

They could fine you enough to cover two lifeguards at the city pool. Fines cost the city little more than the paper they're written on.
