I am sick of hearing how the ownership won’t spend money. That’s no excuse. Oakland has one of the lowest payrolls in baseball, year in, year out. Yet, they are competitive every year, because they know how to draft. They are basically a minor league system for the rest of the spenders. Learn how to develop a player for goodness sakes.

Lots of truth to that but the fact remains the Red Sox just flat out bought a World Championship last year with a 210 mil payroll.

Yep. But Johnny Daniels thinks the opposite. Rangers will suck as long as he’s in charge.

Pitching and more pitching first off. Improve the defense and get more selective at the plate. We have way too much swing and miss type hitters. You can get buy with 1 or 2 100+ strikeout a year type guys but not 1/2 the lineup. Until Daniels gets away from offense first mindset and chasing the longball it’s not going to improve.

if they were rentals then no problem trading them. They had no rental pitchers so thus no trades.

and the owners cut the payroll by 40% from their playoff years. You can't c;aim thats not a problem regardless of the A's and their farm system that has come up, and as soon as they get their first real contract they trade them away.

Player development is the key and the Rangers just don't do it well...and haven't for a while.
Look at St Louis Cardinals and Houston, they use the same program now that they have Jeff Luhnow.

Daniels must go so they can get a new blueprint of how to put a competitive team on the field.
I'm afraid it will get worse before it gets better if this change isn't made soon.....oh wait, they have a new stadium....so wins and losses evidently are secondary to new stadium

wasn't too long ago the gers had a top group of prospects then they traded them for Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels, and a few others. They did the job and got them to the es they just couoldn't finish thanks Nellie Cruz.

I think the owners are telling Daniels how much he can spend on payroll. I also think Daniels is telling Woodward who he can play and who he cant play. Otherwise why would R Odor be in the line-up EVERY night? If he had his way I think Woody would have benched Odor's azz long ago. Not gonna happen because Odor's big contract,,benching him would put egg all over Daniels face.

Man, the point you made about "swing and miss" guys is a huge part of a team turnaround. Astros are a prime example. I have watched probably 40-50 Astros games this year and that team can run up a pitch count quick on a starting pitcher. They TAKE a lot of pitches and two strike counts just don't matter to them. They get into teams bullpens by the 4th, 5th innings and like I always say, bullpen pitchers are in the bullpen for a reason, they cant start!! It was not always that way. Just 3-4 years ago, they led the league in K's and now are just the opposite, meanwhile their pitchers are striking out more than anyone!! When you lead the league in NOt striking out and lead the league in Striking out opponents, that is obviously a formula for immediate success.

Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.
