Heard they will going away from the 5.7 V-8 to some V-6 with turbo's. Whatever they do they need to update the inside of the truck. They look like they were made in the 1980's compared to the other brands.

You want MPG get another marque. Tundra made for performance, not MPG. Don't think I'll ever go back to a Ford or Chevy; never had Dodge/Ram or GMC.

Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

Performance compared to what? It's about the least capable 1/2 ton on the market.

No. It's nowhere near that much because I'm only getting 2mpg better fuel mileage. I basically was just saying how many miles you get for free(by saving $2,000) at $2.25 gas. It would take a tundra 2,647 gallons of fuel at 17mpg to travel 45,000miles(roughly what I travelled last year). It would take a Chevy at 19mpg 2,368 to travel the same 45,000 miles. So that's a savings of $630/year at your suggested $2.25 price of gas. It would basically take 3 years and 2 months for me to save $2,000 in fuel by driving a chevy with a v8 5.3L vs a Toyota with a v8 5.7L.... that is, if the manufacturer's 17mpg for toyota and 19mpg for chevy is correct.

My brother's F150 5.0 gets worse MPGs than my Tundra and my neighbor's gets about the same. I suspect some people stretch the MPGs a little bit just to knock the Tundra. If I drive like a grandma I can get 18.5 out of my Tundra but that is not the way I drive. I would rather stop a little more often for gas than spend time in the repair shop.

nothing uglier than a Ford grille and those doors and what is with that GM front bumper. Then there are those hideous looking Dodges. Although the resdesign does look a little better.

The tundra is as ugly as the other 3 trucks. Beauty is one of those things everyone is gonna disagree on. I consider myself a loyal Tundra owner, but the truck IS outdated now and that is a fact. Even as a loyal tundra guy, I would probably rank it closer to last than first when it comes to looks. For those who value Resale and Reliability above everything, they are truly unmatched, especially resale value. They rank only behind the Tacoma in resale value after 5 years of ownership, holding 55% of their value (Tacoma is 64%!!) The others are below the 50% mark, which isn't bad at all. Toyota knows they need to revamp. Gonna be interesting to see what they do with the engine. EPA reg's on full size trucks start kicking in pretty hard in the early 2020's. I kinda feel like Toyota has been really lazy in developing an engine or they have something up their sleeves.I have always bought into that ole notion "there is no replacement for displacement" which is why I bought one to begin with. Not sure how a turbo v-6 would work out for owners like me.

MY 2012 4x4 Crewmax 4.6 has 157k on it now. Two sets of tires and one set of brakes is all I have had to do to it other than regular maintance. 18mpg at 70 and 13 towing my boat. When it hits 250k miles I may think of trading it in.

As far as looks go I date ugly women because they are low maintance, more dependable and know how to have fun. Same with a truck for me.

OP if you want a truck you can drive for more than 4 or 5 years get a Tundra. If you like to trade in and update your truck every few years there are better options.
