I suppose you fellows that fish around big cities deal with this a lot but this was a first for me. Keith Ashcraft and his son Cody came out this morning for a instructional trip. Keith just bought a new boat and wanted to find out where and how to catch fish on LOP. It was slow early but we finally found fish that would bite in a cove. They put 30 in the boat before we were ran out.
A wake boat started running circles around us about 100 yards out. Understand we were sitting in this cove under an umbrella, no doubt fishing when this boat started going around us. We gave up after her fourth circle. The waves were 3’ high coming from every direction. I literally had to stay on my knees getting the boat ready to move. I am glad it was a female. If it had been a man I might be in trouble right now.
Deal with BS like that all the time, boats throwing 5’ wakes all over the place, jet skis running 60mph less than two boat lengths from the boat, the thing that those recreational boaters do that probably pisses me off the most is when they park in the middle of the ramp before they prep to launch and park in the middle of the ramp after they pull the boat out to prep to get on the road. Definitely report that next time.
I think that videoing reckless boat drivers on the lake and getting their TX number is a real good idea. We need more people doing that and reporting them and maybe it would stop someone from getting hurt. Also it would be nice if parks and wildlife would tell us what is illegal for them to do around other boats and what our rights are and what their rights are. Also it would sure help with parks and wildlife would chime in on this post or on their own website and let us know where we stand and what to do about it . Also boat ramp etiquette ..
Buff2 I think Saw yall out there in the Coplland creek Crustall cove area. . We have place in there and those wake boarders found us and now the jet fleas out on weekends. I noticed the umbrella and people up in front seats, I thought great idea for shade .
Thats why I love fishing Fork, maybe see a jetflea once in a while,...but I've never seen a wake boat. Sometimes theres a pontoon pulling their grandkids but few and far between...and almost never in fishing areas... I would not have the restraint of someone circling me in a wake boat....woman or not !!!

That was us. It just baffled me that they would run circles around us when the main lake was just around the corner and wide open.
Our pier was washed ,blown away in the last flood we had,. WE have few spots out that way that produce for us but not in a day in day out pattern. During the week best time there. wife and me stay some weekend thru Monday just to enjoy the quiteness.
I ran up to the north end to avoid that mess. If I’d have been thinking, I would have just put out up there. Never got on a pile of them but picked up several onesies and twosies. Decent day anyway.
It happens to me when I run the river, sometimes. Best to video it with your phone. And call the warden. They gotta put that boat in somewhere. Then take it out.
