For most people boating is a infrequent thing and they are not in a hurry to get on or off the water. Thats never going to change.
Ive seen bass fisherman do it also, not everyone is in a hurry!! Lots of yankees and their cousins from the west, now live in our state. That's a big part of our problem. Exactly right Doug. The damn yankees are ruining the place.

I've been watching this entertaining show for over 50 years. As long as boat dealers continue to sell boats to the untrained public it will continue to go on. A little book explaining boat ramp etiquette would go a long way to alieving the problem if they take the time to point it out to their customers before they are thrown away.
A really good boat dealer or seller would take the time to take his customer down to the lake, show them how to launch the boat, ramp etiquette and all and then recover. I have never heard of any that do.

I’ve been to three lakes in 3 days. Friday, Saturday, and today. With the exception of Athens yesterday, I was the only Boat at the lake. Yesterday at Athens, it was really pretty tame. Almost deserted till around 11-12.
When is this HUGE RAMP CLUSTER predicted to happen?

When I was getting off the water Friday night there was a family fishing on the ramp. It's a one lane ramp and even when I backed my trailer down they were still on the edges, both edges. I even had to get out of the truck to move one of their rods off the ramp so I didn't run over it.

I have never heard of any that do. Bought my first bass boat in Tampa Florida. The Stratos dealer I bought it from did all of the things you mentioned above plus some. Spent 2 hours going over everything on the lake. I grew up in bass boats so I knew what I was doing, but it was nice to go over everything with the dealer.

Everyone was a rookie at some point most that boat often learn pretty quick. What gets to me those that clearly haven’t a clue but get pissed if you offer help. Especially the morons that aren’t able to back trailer in a multiple lane ramp . Also the ones who have their wife do it then holler and scream cause she can’t. Their probably needs to be a boating etiquette course with every new sale of boat lol. J D

Don't you love it when you go to back down and there is someone with their head lights on so you can not see.

Watched a group of young guys and girls pull a Wakeboard boat out of the water. The guy in the boat behind the wheel left the motor running after they got it cranked up tight and then kept reving the motor with transmission in neutral while the boat was being towed up the ramp to the parking spot. I guess he thought it sounded cool with the obnoxiously loud rap they were blasting. I started to go tell them that the motor was water cooled and point back to the water. Decided to leave it be.

I was at Pines today and a group of 4 backs down a ramp that is more than big enough for 2 boats then decides to get all their **** in the boat. I was at dock ready to get my truck to leave. I just back down, but it was a little tight, and I had more than enough room. The fools ram the dock with party barge almost knock a lady from the dock and hitting my boat that my wife was holding. That's when I couldn't hold my tongue any longer and told them if they would wait just a second I will be out of here. They got pissed at me because I they really had no clue what they were doing. I had my boat loaded strapped down was leaving and the 4 guy still looking for [censored] in the truck. This just the normal now or what? Keyword above in Red

was at ray roberts yesterday and two different boats blocked a 2 lane ramp like they were the only ones using the ramp...Funny thing is the first guy could not get his boat started (took him 15 minutes to get it started) and was blocking both lanes and the guy waiting was getting pizzed but then he did the same thing and blocked both lanes.. Glad it is mostly over now...

I enjoy the ramp catastrophe videos on YouTube. If not for an ample supply of idiots I would laugh less.
