Hey guys!
Went out channel catfishing yesterday and absolutely killed it! Used range cubes and chummed a small area in 5 fow near cattails and stick ups and caught over a 100 channel catfishing in probably an hour and a half. BUT they were mostly baby 6 inchers with very few over 12 inches. Whats the trick, or is there a trick to finding bigger keeper sized channel catfish using range cubes and punch bait? Any advice? Or maybe it was just the area I was in...

Bigger bait, bass minnows for example or larger chicken breasts cuts
call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

You can definitely catch bigger cats in 5 fow but this time of year I'd be fishing a little deeper. It of course depends on where you're fishing too.
You get out of it what you put into it!

that’s something I considered trying too...maybe put grain out like I did in 5 fow so I know I’ll catch fish and then move 100 feet out further on the point and try 12 fow or so out of curiosity

While you are playing around with the little guys, put out a rod with a big hunk of cut bait or a live sunfish and watch that rod very carefully.

That's a great day when you bring the kids out. If you want bigger fish, then put out a hook and bait that won't fit in a little fishes mouth.

If its fph I would try fisrt major cove southeast of the dam. There are some good flats off points there on the map.

Ok i have some spots you just have to release a bunch of small fish on. They swim thru in same size schools sometimes. I have been catching fish in about 20 foot deep water. I have found that if i chum the day before i plan to fish that the size is better. Beibg retired is a huge bemigit for fishing and i highly recommend retirement.
