Big sand bass rewards August/Sept in the northern shallows of most lakes for those who dare to combat the stumps and stained waters.... Nice find!

Went back up there today after the heavy rain stopped and found fish on Cross Roads Hump and a new hump I'll call Hump B. It was loaded with whites and is the hump at the bottom of the 2nd map above almost straight down from the big peninsula. The roadbeds did not have fish on them today. Caught 75 including a 15 lb buffalo in 6 fow. Mepps 2 and 4 worked.

Thanks for the report Dennis. Do you have any trouble with having to avoid stumps when going into that part of the lake ?

Went out the last 2 days and caught lots of fish. Some were in 12 to 15 ft. and some were as shallow as 8 ft. Caught them all trolling Saturday at the house with the tennis court and sunken island on hellbender/pet spoon combo. Caught them Sunday at sunken island and bridge point ( see Dennis Christians map on first page for location of bridge point) all on #4 Mepps . Kept 45 between both days but probably released another 40 or so.

You should have submitted it for lake record. The longest white I've ever caught anywhere was 18 inches.

Re stumps: Didn't see many on the western part of the lake. But I didn't go over about 24 mph just in case. As you go east approaching Cedar Creek channel there are a lot of stumps, so you have to slow down. I searched these areas going 2 to 3 mph. I would occasionally feel a stump. My topo map showed the roadbeds that run beside the creeks and staying on them minimized chance of hitting a submerged stump. You have to navigate through quite a few visible stumps to get to Hump B, but it was worth it.
