Which do you think works best for a shakey worm jig head, a straight shank hook, or a hook with an offset worm style shank? I’ve always used the straight shank with a barb to hold the worm on, but the worm slides down on the hook shank with the slightest pull.
I have also used jig heads with wire worm holders, but I kinda think the wire can interfere with pulling the head through the basses lips to set the hook. I may be wrong about this, just not sure.
Would appreciate the thoughts of some of you guys that regularly fish shakey head worms.

shakey heads have evolved a lot over the years. The ones where the plastic is pushed up over the lead to hold in in place were all their were for a long time.. I've caught a lot of fish with them, but I really like the ones with the worm keeper screw gizmo. The biggest plus is the worm will lost a lot longer with the keeper than with the older style. I haven't noticed any issue with missing fish from the keeper. BD

For less than 10fow, I really like the owner ultra shaky head For deeper water, I’m liking the Yum pumpkin head.
Both have a screw keeper that isn’t too long as to interfere with hook ups

The Owner shaky head with screw-style keeper is my favorite - have used them for a lot of years.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I take a jig head with a light wire long shanked hook and bend it in a couple places to make it work for me. It stays on and does not get torn up as easily as most other methods I've seen. Works for me on light line, 8 and 10 pound.
