My 4 iron is around 215 to 225 if I'm really striking the ball good that day. My hybrid goes about 220-230.

Interesting comments concerning how far you hit the ball. The game is about control. Remember, you are playing against the golf course, not the other members in your foursome, etc. Bring tempo & timing to the course & hit what club you need. Don’t fall into the trap of trying to outdistance others. Play your game, not theirs!

Keep in mind that hitting off mats is very forgiving.

Striping a 4 iron 215 regularly off Texas hard pan is impressive

Most average golfers don’t have a 4 iron any more—use a hybrid instead—much easier

Got it. So he just thinks I suck. Which I do.

Now that I think about it it makes sense. We only played together once. That was back in January during one of my job interviews with him. I had never golfed before. Since then ive been practicing two or three times a month. Add in a few lessons and im still suck but 1000 times better than when I played first.

Had no idea we have some many golfers down here in the OT.... maybe we need to try and put together a combo event next year. I do one annually already with a bunch of my buddies, day 1 is a 4 man scramble and day 2 is a big bass format fishing tournament. We tie both events together to come up with a winning team but also still do Long Drive, Closest to the Pin, and Big Bass trophies also.
