If it's set on 74 and showing its 74 put it on 75 and see if it shuts off

Hose down the condenser coils with a mist spray. Will help with head pressure and assist in cooling down in the evenings.
Clean the A coil fins on your inside unit. Might have a dust hair blanket coating it and restricting air flow.

Will it go off it you turn the t-stat to Off?

sounds like the thermostat...or the fan switch. Is the outside unit not shutting off? Or is it the inside unit that's not shutting off?

Doesnt matter what I set it to, low or high temp. Coach....just answer the question, I don’t even care if it general, but most people keep their temp at a certain point. Is yours 78? Or 62? This plays a factor
