Hey all, I'm trying to help my sister and brother in law out with getting a boat that can be used for my nephew's bass club but also for family fun to 8 people capacity. They want to stay in the 30 - Something thousand range. We have looked at tracker and liked the options on the Targa but wanted to put it out there for Fiberglass boat options as well. begging on your experience in this area and open to suggestions.
Many thanks!
Needs to have sonar and trolling motor as a part of the package preferably.

just ski from a bass boat. A fish and ski is good for skiing only. Rod lockers are too short for most rods and they have tiny front decks. Odd are they wont use it to ski more than a few times a summer.

I wouldn't own one but at the very least I would try and find someone that does. Then see about fishing out of it for a day first....
It's only a good cast if you catch a fish... Personal Best: 11.62 lbs

We have a 2013 Tahoe Fish N Ski that holds 8 but fishes comfortably 4-5. I like the high sides, etc.

Go with a bay boat! We love ours, always had bass boats then when you have 5 kids bass boat doesn’t cut it anymore. The rod boxes on our boat will take up to an 8 ft rod. We ski, fish, cruise and just enjoy the lake or bay with ours. We bought the floatable bean bag chairs from academy and work great in the back corners. Plus no carpet!

I have a 20' Blue Wave Center Console Bay Boat. Awesome casting deck, trolling motor, Power Pole, 2 live wells, and great storage. It is awesome all around boat for pleasure cruising and fishing. Better when wind kicks up than a bass boat and when does it not blow in Texas? T Top or bamini top is an option as well. There is no way I would try to make a bass boat work as a family pleasure boat. Wife would not be happy = me not happy = pissed away a lot of money to have to go trade bass boat for something better suited for family. PLUS take it to salt water bays. PLUS no carpet.
GOD is good!

Bay boat for sure. I owned a Ranger 375V for almost 30 years. Back then the fish and ski was fish first now they should be called ski and fish. When I blew the second motor I decided for the type of fishing I do a bay boat would be better. I was worried about shallow water but I have had the Champ in water as shallow as my Ranger. For $30k they will be able to get a newer bay or CC most of which no longer lack in the seating department. If they get one and need a good ski pole I have one for sale. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/08/full-6989-21618-00t0t_4oqrrcidiio_1200x900.jpg)
