I'm looking to add a splasher motor on my 2200 nauticstar and wanted to know how to best mount the transom trolling motor. I have seen other guys use a built in rod holder off a nautic star but my boat doesn't have a built in rod holder off the back. I was thinking that a power pole mount may be the ticket. Any recommendations on how to best mount the motor?

Build an L ot T mount on the step ladder. 2" thick and minimum 4" tall wall. Taller wall will allow you to stow splasher better.

On my NS, I modified the trolling motor bracket and bolts and just clamped it on. I wanted a soft cushion between the bolts and the fiberglass, so I took a piece of 3/32" Stainless Steel and Gorilla glued a piece of rubber on it. Between the thickness of the transom and that, it was too thick to get the trolling motor on it. I ended up taking the flat washer pads off the tightening bolts, and took my grinder and ground about 3/16" off the opposite side of the trolling motor bracket. It all fit on, and the boat is protected from marring and scratching.

Thanks for the feedback guys. You have given me some good ideas to run down.

I'm also looking at this bracket to see if that would work either off the ladder or permanent mount off the back.

Neighbor who has a lot of wood working equipment cut me 2 boards to clamp on to the ladder. I ran some 10 gauge wire with quick connect from battery under the console up under the closest jump seat.

Could you run the splasher off the side, but at rear of boat. One that swivels and is attached to rod holder ??
