The crappie were biting good again today, we ended up with 32 keepers on the Morning trip today, we caught around 70 total. The lake level is still around 3 1/2 low but the water and ramps are in great shape with water clarity is good as well. The crappie are getting on some steady patterns now so the fishing should be great for a while.
Thanks, Rex and Doug for a great morning.

Most of the fish are coming off minnows put we are catching some off jigs as well, in around 15 to 18 ft of water. fish

To all the guides on here:

I want to thank each of you for letting us know which lakes they are biting at and the depths and so on. It helps me out greatly to at least try and find something that looks promising while skipping others and saving time. Thank you to all for your kind generosity in sharing a little info!

Cliff, where do you get your minnows at Ray Bob? Do you catch your own or is there a bait shop? If you catch your own, do you use a dip net or cast net?

Thank You!!

Whiz,
I buy mine at the "Snap Shop" located at I-35 and fm455. They also make a mean sausage buscuit to take with you for breakfast!!!

if the biscuits are that good i'd get the minnows there as well

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Like fowlhooked said, there's a little Conoco or whatever it is on the NE corner once you exit at the Sanger exit. Think it's called "snap shop". If you ramble E on FM455 and take the right fork, there's another one just before you get to the dam, and they give you plenty of minners as well.
