Is this still a power plant lake ? And is the bass fishing any good ?

No and No. In all fairness the fishing question is being answered based on others reports. Have not been in a long time. The power plant has been shut down for a long time and the entire property, lake and surrounding land, was/is for sale a few years ago. The lake is still open for public access. Maybe someone will post a recent report.

Been a handful of times and I’ll never go back...

The plant was tore down three year back. The county run's the park now. For some unknow reason they kept the water level very low, so all the cat tails are out of the water. I have not been out there for 3 months because the bass were not biting, and when you did get one it was a dink. I not sure if you have a tandem trailer you can launch. I would not wast my time to go out there any more. Go to Lake Belton or Stillhouse and you have a better trip IMO.

It was tough this spring, I haven't been back. I think the city got a grant to replace the ramps to make them deeper and rebuild parking lots and maybe put in courtesy dock but I've not heard of them doing anything yet.

This is going to be interesting to say the least. We are going to have a couples top six tournament out there on the 24th .
If anybody has good info please pm me . It is legal to pot lick . The lake is off limits to all participants. And can’t have anybody go pre fish it for me.

Don't use the steeper boat ramp. There's a huge hole in it and it could certainly tear a trailer up. We were out there a few weeks ago and backed into that hole, damaging the license plate and were fortunate it didn't do more damage to the trailer. The trip before that we got a flat tire on the trailer in the parking lot. The best places to fish on that Lake are the dam and the discharge, it's typically a convoy of boats fishing both spots.

I fish it all the time. When the lake is low it sucks when the lake is up its awesome problem is its never up anymore since lumiant is worthless they keep the lake 2 foot low now. By the 24th you might not be able to launch

How low does the lake have to get before the boat ramps are unusable?

A friend of mine was out there yesterday and the water was just at 2 feet at the end of the ramp. I would not try to launch there. Also there was not anyone at ether ramp.

Well per say the gate attendant there is plenty of water to launch boats . If anybody goes out this weekend and is launching a bass boat we sure would like to know that the ramp is useable.

What gate attendant? There is not any gates out there.

You might want to take a road trip and come to Tradinghouse and see it for yourself. That way you know if you can get on the water or choose another lake to go to.

Tell me what the lake level has to do with Luminant being worthless? They don't control Mother Nature and the plant is torn down so how can they raise or lower the lake?
