The decision of incompetency is made by a doctor. The medical standard is you are a danger to yourself or others., as far as I know. The VA uses a different standard that will get one put on the "Brady Bill" list. Whether you can manage your finances.

There are too many issues to answer in this question. It’s an arbitrary decision based on the opinion of another person or “medical professional”. Albeit, these people are well trained, but mental health is something that has some very gray areas. Does someone who has depression and struggles with suicidal thoughts but takes medication to combat that qualify? What about someone who is on a mood stabilizer? Then on top of that there is the issue of doctor/patient confidentiality. As far as I know, it’s only if someone appears to make a direct threat to hurt another individual that a mental health professional is allowed to contact authorities. It’s an important topic that needs to be openly deliberated about and addressed in politics because the last thing politicians need to do is deter people from seeking help.

I know you’re talking about JayC...but if you were targeting me, I would take “probably not mentally unstable” as a win!

Not thinking of you specifically.

Yeah, HIPPA laws would have to change.

I agree that liberalism is definitely one of the early warning signs of mental instability. Liberals cannot be Christians. Mutants either. If you are not a Christian, then you have no sense of grace, sin, and life in general. These people have no regard for life, this is why they can agree with abortion by disection and rationalize it as "well it is the womans body". These people could look some innocent person in the eyes and blow a hole in their chest.

What a terrible set of statements. People like you give Christians a bad name because you are so far from the teachings of Christ. I'd say Christians who talk to an invisible being on a daily or weekly basis should be considered mentally unstable.

Honestly, I could change some words around and it would easily be one of your posts in the other direction, so maybe don’t cast stones on this one.

I speak to God on a daily basis. If that makes me mentally unstable, then so be it. And I dont own a fully automatic weapon.... yet
