I agree with you bass buster but it was nothing like that . He was very aggressive about it telling me I would be disqualified from the tournament, and he would call the game warden if I did not leave . I told him to call because I was sure that I was with in my rights , but to my disbelief they sided with him , give me a spill about people renting the slips, I chose not to challenge them and just left .

Good old RayRoberts Marina. We had a few of their dock workers claiming we were going over 4mph causing wake. The guys were so mad cursing. I looked down at my gps 3.2mph. Yelled to the guy said how fast we were going. He said be there in a min to take care of you. We headed to the ramp they showed up at the public ramp sized us up and decided they would just would go back to working. Funny how they think they can be the law.

Call the 800 number and ask for clarification and ask for a copy of it so you can show your proof next time you are bothered about this. I had a run in with the marina owner there before and just ignored him and kept fishing nothing was ever done at that time plus the game warden was at the ramp at the same time. Good luck

TPWD specifically addresses the question posed in their FAQ. https://tpwd.texas.gov/landwater/land/habitats/faq/law_enforcement/fish2.phtml

It’s been years but in a tournament Kernan and fished the same Marina , the guy came out and tried to run us out Mike challenged him and told him to call the GW , the GW came out and sided with us and told the guy to leave us alone.

Was it a park cop or was it a Texas Game warden. This doesn't sound right to me.

Only way to get proof is to either get on the phone or start emailing the local wardens and regional game warden offices. Tell them what happened and make them give you clarity on the situation. Bug them enough that they figure out the answer. Get it in writing and throw it in the boat. I can't imagine that the GW was in the right here. If marinas can call themselves a commercial property and thereby keep fishermen out, I suspect they would all do it. Unfortunately at the time of a situation like this the only action you can take is to do what the GW says. Their discretion is beyond reproach in any field situation. However, you can get clarity for the future.

Call Stormy, Cooke county GW, he is a good guy and will give you the answer over the phone. I am sure he will say you are good as long as you don't touch the slips. He is the guy for RR so if it happens again and he is called you can remind him of the phone conversation. We all know we have a right to fish water we can get to by boat. To me the best solution is to be nice, avoid bouncing jigs off the gel coat of expensive boats in the slips, calmly involve the GWs if you think it is necessary, or fish somewhere else, it is a big lake.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

“Or fish somewhere else, it’s a big lake”

Wisdom.

It’s constantly begging the issue that IS GONNA GET US more regulations. I’m not suggesting to coward down, just suggesting to ease up a little. Why piss of everyone on the water over a 8” non keeper freaking bass anyways. The big ones are deep in the summer.

If this happened a couple of years ago, why raise a fuss now?
