I fished GV a couple of days ago with my wife’s uncle and cousin. I don’t really know the lake that well but my summer patterns work on most North Texas lakes. We got bait on the ledge at McPherson Slough in 30 ft. 2 throws and we caught half the species of fish in the lake. We started out scanning the island ledge. We marked fish at the bottom of the ledge but they were all mixed in with bait so we kept moving. Moved over to the hump out from Murrell and caught 3 dink blues. Marked some good fish but couldn’t get em going. Moved up by rock crusher humps and found a bunch of Sandies feeding. We drifted through them and ended up with 12 more dinks at our 3rd spot. We were getting chewed up like a son of a gun. Half the cats we caught at rock crusher were channels. With all the flooding we’ve had the last 4 yrs, GV is chuck full of dinks just like my lake. Can’t go 20 ft without marking 100 dinks.

Caught 10 this morning between 8 and noon...my bride stomped me..i only caught 2 lol..she is getting better..all caught between 2 and 8 ft of water in trees

Excellent haul! Good idea letting your bride catch most of them. Improves the odds you get to go fishing again.
