Hey guys! Had a fun trip today at FPH. Best action was early and died off greatly by 0930. Experimented around with a different fluke/bass assassin style bait and much smaller than I usually use but it paid off really well! Actually ended up catching at least half or more of the fish on these smaller ~4 inch baits. Made a fun video over it with a few tips and why I believe this smaller bait worked as well as it did. Go get em! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g21A3xq8FYI

What a fabulous fishery you have available , and good work figuring out the pattern. It is a wonderful fishery for sure! I'm really digging Lake Coleman too and it has lots of nice fish. Short drive away and way prettier of a lake. I'm still learning their pattern and always exploring new areas and figuring out new tricks. Its rewarding after three years of hard work on the water and A LOT of failures and bad trips to finally consistently find and put fish in the boat in several areas of the lake throughout the year. I'd say it was harder work then nurse practitioner school even LOL!

Yes sir it does. I've only fished it a few times. Lots of 3-5 pounders on average.

We need to get together to do a video. Might be fun or at least funny. Saw you out there while I was trolling the big ones.

Looks like Coleman was last stocked 2009. Wonder why They started stocking Sunshine Bass last in 2017 according to the report. Different mother/father relationship. Supposedly they grow faster, fatter and more aggressive. I was jacking around doing a diaper life jacket float in that lake and got pulled out to the middle by a large one. They usually run the shoreline in the evenings chasing shad. I like diaper fishing but they are scary to land like that.

Yep Timmy is right! Most people think of "Palmetto bass" when they think hybrids which is the traditional female striper breed with male white bass. A "sunshine bass" is also a hybrid but breed male striper with female white bass. It seems TPWD have started experimenting more with the sunshine bass in recent years and from my understanding they are finding that they grow a little bit faster than the palmetto bass but not sure all the differences in appearance and growth.
I'd love to do a video with you Timmy! 325-669-2808. I hope to hear from you soon.
I'd like to do a video over trolling if you are still doing that right now?? You have been very successful with that approach from what I can tell and it would be great to show myself and others your gear, setup, line, line distance from boat, crank baits, boat speed, etc.. so we can learn from TrollMaster Timmy LOL and yes I know you can and do more than trolling. I've covered lots of content on my channel but not trolling crank baits so I would seriously love to cover that because there is not much videos teaching that. Wednesday's are my one day off since the wife is home so I can go either in the morning or afternoon. I can usually go most afternoons during the week as well. Hollar at me man!

Is bait pretty easy on Coleman? I honestly haven't tried because I live right next to lake Kirby and catch shad there the night before my trip but yes it should be pretty easy at Coleman. I found tons and tons of bait on the wind blown flat that extend off the northern shore not too far from the ramp but didn't need to catch any. I also imagine in the backs of any of the coves would likely be productive but haven't tried. It is a very fertile lake so I think with a little practice it wouldn't take long to catch shad on it.
