just got a quantum cabo reel and what a rod for big reds. usually use my bass rigs but want a rig just for inshore fishing. is 7', med action and med/fst tip about right?

that is what i use, my buddy uses a 7' med/hvy action with a fast tip but he likes heavier actions than i do.

Hello,which Cabo did you get? I have 2 30's and 2 20's. I love them both. The 30's are on med/hvy rods by Triumph(St.Croix),The 20's are on the same rod but med. action. I have caught ling up to 40lbs and a 40+ striper on the 30's. My 20's I use Specks/Reds.

i have the 20 (being shipped to me now). leaning toward med action with med fast tip. just got a 6'6" st croix med/hvy for my zillion-nice bass rig
