I'm thinking of selling my boat this fall so that I can get a center console. I currently have a skeeter fish n ski that I paid $9000 for over 10 years ago. I priced what the boat should be worth now using the NADA website and it shows between $6500 and $7500. My question is, do people typically follow that value on both sides of the sale (the boat is super clean)? Should I expect to get that much for it?
Thanks -

Be realistic about the price and the condition of the boat.. Sentiment isn't worth much on the open market.Price it according to the book value and be flexible within reason.

Go with NADA but as mentioned be flexible. Also consider the time of year. You may have a harder time selling it in the fall.
You get out of it what you put into it!

If you are looking for a used CC I would sell now. Finding the right CC can take some time.

We try to post most of our boats at low NADA, but it ALL depends on condition, what kind of accessories, etc. etc. There's a lot that goes into it. I find some of those older 5-10 thousand dollar boats can get more than NADA. But like I said... there are a LOT of factors that go into pricing a boat.

NADA's a good starting point. Unfortunately, most people don't understand how to use it correctly. Many will add options/pricing for equipment that came standard on the boat. They end up over pricing.

Keep in mind that NADA is retail price not individual sale.

NADA has been very generous with pricing the last couple of years. Meaning they are overpricing some units. Always do comps from Boat Trader, BBC and other sites to get a real number.
