Any of you guys riding it this year? Its just around the corner. Some friends and I are planning on doing the 100K. If youve never ridden a hundred miles in one sitting, this is the one to do it. Theyve got rest stops every 10mi for the first 50, then they start getting even closer all the way to the finish. 98% of it is flat as a pancake, the worst hill is in the first 20/30miles and theres a rest stop at the top of it.

But the nice thing is there's so many groups you nearly could ride the whole thing drafting! Last year the stretch on 79 back south to WF was pretty wicked, I did the 100k road race and we'd been going 24-26 most of the ride, when we turned on 79 it went to about 13mph lol. The two years before that it's nearly been cold at the start, with as hot as it's been so far the past few weeks, I'm going to say it's liable to be a hot sob. I've never gotten to ride through Sheppard so I'm going to do the 100k ride on Saturday, my wife and 5YO are doing the 10k, it'll be their 3rd time!

Lot of people in my cycling club are going. Wife and I are not going. We have done 70 miles a few times this year. Going to Big Dam Bridge ride in Little Rock in late Sept doing 100 miles there. It is an awesome ride.

I've ridden around Springfield MO on occasion, with a 52/36 on my bike, it was ok going downhill, but going back up, not enough!!

Yeah we did good. We finished the 100k ride in a little over 3 hours, with two stops. Around mile 40 we caught up to one of my fast cyclist friends who had a flat, and once he got it fixed we jumped in with him and a few others, we took turns pulling at about 24 for the rest of the way home!
Sunday I raced in the cat 4/5 crit. I'd done a few weekly "races" here but this was my first USAC crit race and they haul [censored]. Maybe the 4th lap I was on the wheel of this guy who out of nowhere decided he was done and went from about 25 to 15 without any warning. Before I could realize how fast we were getting passed up, about 5 others and I were playing catch up. We never could catch the group so we just finished it out. Still rode hard but I was disappointed with it. I was sitting in a really good spot and if that hadn't have happened, it'd been a fun race. Oh well.
My wife is finally excited about racing and me riding fast, she was wanting me to look for more races this fall, so we'll see what happens.
Her and my 5YO did their 3rd HHH 10k. Probably shoot for the 25mi next year.
