Hi y’all, long time since I’ve last reported. These last 4 years, I’ve been mostly offshore fishing and only a few trip to area lakes. My fishing club, Rat-bass-turds, had our annual club tourney this weekend. Friday night and Saturday, we fished. Some of you may remember that we have fished CC for years, it’s our home lake, but last year it seemed the patterns that I’ve followed forever, started changing and this year, only two hybrids caught by us and a few sandies, all around 11-12”.

Do y’all have any idea, has the lake been beat up that bad, all the fish get released through flood gates, are TPWD still stocking?

None of the other boats in our group did any better, in the white vas’s or hybrid class. 5-6 years ago, using the exact baits and techniques, it was alway good. Even the bad days were amazingly better.

Just a question

The lake muddied up this year and didn't really clear up until late May. We have been catching plenty of 10 to 12 inch whites and much fewer 13 to 15 inch fish than normal. We had a white bass tournament June 29 and the winner had 5 fish that weighed a total of 5.28 lb. We have also caught a lot of short hybrids in the 12 to 14 inch range, which bodes well for the future. I have also noted that many of the fish we are catching have empty stomachs. But none of these observations explains to me why the dearth of larger whites. I am catching a legal hybrid or two when I go out looking for whites - normal for me.

Dennis, granted, I haven’t been fishing much the last two years but wow, I covered a whole lot of ground. Jus never really saw much to get me excited. Very strange. Be been good at hybrids and over 14” sandies for the last 10-12 yeas maybe?

Maybe the fish are more north. I only fished from the spillway to the dam and most spots in between. It was tough. Lol

I do want to thank you sir, I read your reports first, when I’m on the forum. You’re a big help.
