The original magazine series was not free and I gladly paid for the magazine. Didnt most of yall?
Why is spending $20 to watch Texas bass fishing a big deal? That was a different time. When was the last time you paid for a magazine subscription? They are still not expensive but why bother when you can get free articles much faster with less hassle? I dont even pay $1 for a news paper any more for yesterdays news when I can get up to the minute stories for free online. IMO, pay subscription services times have passed. I dont use it because it is inconvenient for me

I dont use it because it is inconvenient for me How is subscribing to specific streaming content like Honey Hole different than subscribing to HBO, Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc...? In most cases, people are subscribing to those services so that they can view a fraction of the content available. In all cases, we are paying because it's either the only option (HBO) or because we want to avoid advertising (Youtube). I subscribe to Apple Music because I want to choose what I listen to, whereas some people are okay with free am/fm radio or free streaming services that are guess what....subsidized by advertising. I subscribe to numerous mobile apps that either make my life easier or provide me with entertainment. Many of these apps have a free version supported by ads. You'll never win an argument saying subscription services "times have passed". You could actually argue that their times have just begun (see source below). Print magazines...sure, but we are talking about digital content. Plus, subscriptions in general are at an all time high. There are more things to subscribe to and more people subscribing than any other time in history. Forbes - State of the subscription economy - 2018 reportWhy Every Business Will Soon Be a Subscription BusinessLast point....for me, pulling HH up on my phone/tablet (and any other screen) is a lot more convenient than setting a dvr (I dont even have one anymore) to record a show every week that I can only watch in one place. I haven't done that in over 5 years and likely never will again.

Maybe I phrased it wrong when I said subscription services. I have subscription services such as Amazon for the free shipping, fast shipping but the video section is just an added bonus but even then, there are huge varieties of shows to watch that when you consider it in its entirety, cost pennies to watch and even then I only use it to download on my phone for use on airplanes. You cant compare companies like apple, amazon, Netflix, etc an option to watch one program only. I still 100% use my DVR to set up and record seasons of shows that I watch on a TV. I liked HH but when it went off the air it was too much trouble for me to bother with. It isnt the price I wouldnt have watched online even if it was free because I am lazy. I havent tried to watch it on TV because it just isnt worth my time of searching and recording each week. Had it been like every other show that showed up on the channel list I would have programmed it and watched again. Maybe I am just too old and have a different opinion than most.

I agree with you Bobby 100%. I live out in the sticks and reliable internet doesn't exist anyway.I recorded one show and it was 6 months old . Not worth the effort. JMO.

I agree with you Bobby 100%. I live out in the sticks and reliable internet doesn't exist anyway.I recorded one show and it was 6 months old . Not worth the effort. JMO. To be clear, of course the show is 6 months old. The VOD subs get the shows within a week or two of air, as that's the point of subscribing for the paid program. Why would we cannibalize that by airing the network shows in real time? Look gents we get it, everyone has an excuse and that's perfectly fine. We focus on those that we can please not those we can't. We have options available for everyone. As mentioned, next year we are looking at network options that don't charge more than the air time for the listing service and hopefully we will find one. In the meantime if you want instant access to the shows with no commercials and available on every device, then you'll have to pay. If you want 26 weeks of Texas only content then we believe this is the best option in the market. If that's not for you we respect that. Thanks for all the feedback either way.

Dish just took FSSW of the air. Dish didn't take FSSW off the air, FSSW quit broadcasting because their contract was up and they are trying to negotiate a new contract for more money. Dish doesn't want to pay more. So the subscribers of Dish, like me, are missing out until they come to terms. Dish has done this many times with other networks. In the end, Dish will eventually cave and subscribers will have their rates go up another $5/month next January.

In the defense of Mr. Jones I would say that I doubt HH is a get rich deal, seems like a labor of love at this point. I doubt he can dictate much of anything to the networks, I'm sure if there was a way to make all the malcontents everywhere happy and make money doing it he would, getting rid of that dumb song clearly butt hurt some beyond repair. There are plenty of ways to watch it, 20 bucks is nothing if you really want to watch it and some of you could certainly use help and waypoints from Wilcox. If you dont have 20 dollars you should be looking for a job rather than watching fishing anyway. If you are technically challenged call a neighborhood kid, a grandchild, pretty much anyone over the age of 10 and under the age of 65 should be able to get you lined out. That's just my humble opinion as a bystander, have a lovely, lovely day.

No need to start insulting people Mr WAWA. Mr Jones promotes his business on here quite often and as a public forum I'm sure he expects feedback. Positive or negative. I didn't see my posts as being negative, only my opinion. And I will have a lovely day.Thank you.

It is not the money, it is that some good things don't require change. Toll house cookies, vanilla ice cream, 1911 pistols, the original Curado reel, watermelon red super flukes, to name a few, just leave good alone! Honey Hole TV the way it was, current and local, was good. The content is probably still worth watching, the pay per view aspect like some freaking MMA event, while not a financial big deal, is really annoying. To Mark's point...sounds like HH did require change. There was a decade of HH being subsidized by someone that loved the show more than you. You got to benefit from his passion. Look man, we get it, you're willing to pay probably ~$100/month for 200 channels+dvr when you probably only watch a few of those channels. But you won't pay $1.66/month to watch a tv show that is ONLY about bass fishing in Texas. That's your priority but why come on here ripping into the "new" version of Honey Hole. And also...how do you think the original show was paid for? Subscriptions and sponsors. Exact same model they are running with today. Not ripping anyone, as a matter of fact I compared Honey Hole's goodness to Toll House cookies and vanilla ice cream. What better compliment could you get? I don't like change and the business/money first/greed attitude that people display now days. I am not even that old, 48 and I feel that way. I like small town, old school, pay cash, buy local, take care of your neighbor kind of thinking. I would take passion over profit any day of the week!!! Progress or whatever you want to call it is not always good. So you are suggesting the HH crew continue to lose money, so that you can watch whatever you want for free? This is old school, pay cash for your access, local fishing show. I guess the only part missing is take care of your neighbor, which according to most on here is keep losing money so you can take care of me for free.
There are no fish in sonic pond EDIT: Except 1 20lb catfish

No, old school like Mash, Bugs Bunny, Bullwinkle, Night Rider, Dukes of Hazard, Orlando Wilson, jimmy Houston, Hank Parker, Bill Dance, Babe Winkleman, and Honey Hole. You know great television on a regular channel. Whatever it takes to make that happen!
See you on the lake and have a great day!
