YIKES! That is scarry to think you could be walking in your back yard and step on that thing without having a clue that it's there! Especially if you have kids in the house!!! You need to get rid of those things.
I found two one time when my buddy and I lifted our john boat at a pond and there coiled about two feet from my feet were two of them looking right at me. We droped that boat on three and took off sprinting. Came back later and dragged it the opposite direction and they slithered away.

In all seriousness though, they are amazing creatures, worthy of God's handiwork. Beautiful coloration and marvelous use of their camoflauge(sp?)! But that face says, "Stay away, give me my space!"

roadtrip, If I knew you were going to put it on your desktop I would have cleaned the grass from its mouth  Yes, I let him go in the same place as the other one. I know, I know.

Looks like you need a Guinea for your yard. When I was a kid my grandpa told me they kill snakes and eat em. I may have to look for one myself.
