Does James's Brother still have the all you can eat fish restaurant out toward Falcon Lake Tackle?? Ate there several years ago and it was the best.

I always feel bad for the people that consider the food down there to be good. Bring as much of your own food as possible. More time fishing or relaxing, less time waiting for slow service and below average food from restaurants that wouldn't meet code in a bigger town.
I wholeheartedly agree. The food in Zapata (other than the LTC gas station breakfast tacos) is sub sub par IMHO.

the steak house was a joke. I don't know if the stand had a name, but across from james's tackle shop there used to be a stand to pick up coffee and breakfast burritos, I thought it was descent.

Everything in Zapata sucks. Bring your own food.

The best food in Zapata is the McDonalds and Stripes breakfast tacos. Good luck getting someone to take your order at McDonald's if you have light skin color. We had the same experience at the pizza hut. Waited over an hour. No drinks. No pizza. Nothing. 6 or so families came in that we not like us and were promplty served and out. Still waiting on that pizza.

if you are looking for 5-star restaurants,go to dallas or Houston (but the fishing ain't too good)....actually I thought Zapata has a better selection of restaurants than t-bend,fork or rayburn.

Best thing to do is to bring or buy a good Ribeye, Beers, Cook out after a good hot day of fishing if you don't want to eat at any of the restaurants.

Rincon is decent food, only issue I had was when I went in there with two friends of mine that are GWs in uniform and we were asked to leave.

1) New sushi spot right off 16th street is legit. 2) Z Wings also off 16th St is very good and has ice cold beer on tap. 3) El Rincon moved to a new location across from CC pizza. 4) The Crawfish has great food and is fairly new. 5) Beacon lodge has home made food every friday evening, live karoke and cold beer. My fav spot in Zapata
