Peaches come in a can, not from a road side stand.

Unless there from Fredericksburg. Picked up some this weekend from a 4 day stay and they are awesome.

As far as things to do the skys the limit. Its becoming more and more commercial with all the wineries and such but still a great place to visit. Fortunately my wife has been in every shop there for many years running so I dont have to tolerate shopping much. I buy her a massage in town and I go play golf at Lady Bird.

Pre-plan happy hour at Crossroads bar followed by dinner there then bar hop till you find music you like. I had a blast dancing with a 85 yr old woman at Hondos to some old Patsy Cline.

Great place to visit but be prepared for crowds and a lot of traffic. You might want to check out enchanted rock while you are there.

And for pete sakes, do not wear flip flops if youre going to the summit. Also, bring plenty of h2o.

I live there (here) and approve of all suggestions. Except maybe Jennie's but we were there right after they opened so maybe it's better. For a burger we prefer Porkey's or maybe Burger Burger downtown. Alamo Springs is further than we want to drive. Also, the new Atlstadt brewery is open and is awesome, out 290 E towards Johnson City. Don't have high expectations for the Ranger "museum" it's not really a museum but they call it the "Heritage Center" they have events there. Not much there to see, maybe 30 minutes worth.. they do have plans to expand.
