not freon they use amonia.

go to home depot or lowes and buy some of the foaming coil cleaner and spray the coil out really well. they get clogged with dirt and gunk and won't cool. thought mine had gone out, cleaned the coils and it blew ice cubes.

if that won't work, buy a new one.

After owning a pop up for many years, I would think you could buy an app. $100 A/C unit at Lowes or HD that would keep it as cool as a cucumber if you can make it fit. A roof one will be much more I'm sure. I don't think the one I had ran on ammonia. It was freon charged and was of the same appearance like that of a camper. Once you determine what you need, go to Amazon. I saved a bundle by buying a replacement for my fifth wheel a few years ago.

I wish we couldve afforded an AC for the pop up my friend and I owned while we were in college. Took it down to PINS one weekend, it was so hot in that damn thing that we named it the Mexican jail.

Where are the coils located? I know less than nothing about this

You will have to take the cover off the AC.

take the cover off, the radiator lookin thingy is your coil. dirt gets between the fins and blocks air passage. cheap to do and might fix it.

newer may be freon charged, the one I took off my trailer at fork was amonia, no mistaking that smell at 0300. wire got up against the tubing and shorted, hole emptied the system.

Common issue with rv ac is the starting capacitor. Google that.

Pop ups have issues with high heat. Parking in the shade maybe the only fix. An AC is designed to remove heat. It draws in the heat from the space and removes it. If the space is 100 degrees, it will blow out 80 degree air. After it has cooled the space (removed the heat) down to 80 degrees, it will blow 60 degree air. The problem with pop ups is 2 fold, no insulation, and thin walls which get well over 100 degrees in the sun. Many units will get very cold at 85 degrees, yet can not handle 90 degrees.

On the refrigerator, its not getting cold at all. Does it run on propane? The tank thats on the front of trailer is empty would that be a reason.

Should be a button on the refrigerator to switch it from gas to electric. They take a long time to get cold also.

I hear you brother. If anyone is considering buying from McClains in Corinth / Denton, don't. Run. And if you do, don't get the extended warranty. I could rant about this for 4 pages.

Ex-GF and I bought one together. Someone had already replaced the AC with a MUCH larger unit. While on it would freeze you out of the thing. But 10 seconds after turning off you're sweating. Was horrible.
