I was wondering the same thing. I was kind of waiting to let the lake settle after coming up so fast, and wondered about the water clarity.

Just wait for Keith (lake bridgeport guide) to post. He is the expert on BP. My guess is the water is still pretty stained.

Yeah I know Keith, I will probally go out and try next Saturday morning. Someone said they were cathing some on top water lures. Like they say a bad day fishing is much better than a good day at work.. We'll see..

Ok! I am out of my forum retirement for a minute...The lake is now 6 feet low 76 degrees. It is a looking better but not clear. The North end is still pretty dirty.

Also, there a few floaters here and there.

For me, It has been like learning a whole new lake. But look around and you can find them. There has been a very early AM bite, the Sandies are whacking the Shad on the banks.

The slab bite will be there one day and gone the next, work slow and close to the bottom. There have been alot of "junior" Hybrids with the Sandies, they are 15-17 inches long. We caught one today with a small Channel cat in its mouth!

Keith, well since you're out of retirement... Im sure you are familiar with Sid Richardson scout ranch on the lake. I am there quite often with the scouts. Since that peninsula covers a lot of area, do you have any suggestions for better bank fishin anywhere on it? I have had some luck on the NE tip of the peninsula. anywhere else you recommend?

hey Markk,
that point is a good one! so is the one due south from there.on the other end of the boyscout cove by the boat ramp where you guys always put in the canoes.all alone that bank and there is another little point south of there. also on the south east side where the little island is there is a deep cut between the scout ranch and the island. not the island in the river on the west side...go early and they should be working the shad over pretty good right now..good luck and keep those boys fishing!!!
