Pay 100% cash for a house? (Assuming you had enough liquidity to do so)

Yep. In a heartbeat. On the other hand, Debt can be a good thing, and real estate is a good place for productive debt.

Depends on the interest rate I can get.

It could be very well worth not paying cash for a house if the money can be invested elsewhere earning a higher interest rate than the mortgage rate.

Yes and I have done it when the stock market was going through one of its floundering times

No substitute for having a low monthly nut to cover, i.e., no vehicle payment, no house payment, etc

Good points and I agree. I also would love to own my house outright (Im sure I could figure out how to come up with a few grand a year for property tax and insurance). I would love to pay cash for a house, but my friend is in finance and he always says it depends.

place it in an llc if you pay cash, don't want it directly in your name.
