the best thing to do is get a list of local snake species and study them, so you know which snakes are venomous and which are not. now you will know when not to mess with them. to catch venomous snakes, use a golf club or a snake stick, and put it in a burlap bag then go release it.

I'd rather be an educated outdoorsman calmly observing the snake then someone running around on the bank like a frightened little girl trying to find something to chop it's head off. If I saw one of you guys acting like that, I don't think I would be able to stop laughing long enough to get back to fishing. rolfmao

Thats not 2%, that's 0.2%....

If your going to be afraid of something, go with the odds and be afraid of bees and wasp. Statistically they make venomous snakes look harmless.

You stand a much greater chance of dying from a lightning strike then from a snake.

They never bother me but I like to pick em up. Some weird thing I guess I got from animal planet. Let em be, I have never heard of some snake coming after someone and intentially tryn to bite them. Yall all know the saying "you knew I was a snake when you picked me up". Live and let live

OOPs.....I kill snakes and do not run over turtles, in fact, I will stop and pick a turtle up and move it out of the road to keep it from getting hit.

Me and Rookie31 mowed a few snakes down last night as we were fishing a creek in the LRA.

Some snakes eat fish. I eat fish. I see them as competition to me for food!!!

I will kill a turtle in my own tank or the creek that we fish in the LRA but I will give them a chance when I see them in the road.

Roughly half of all venomous snake bites are "dry." That is, the snake does not inject venom into the victim.

Haven't been able to get statistics on bear attacks that result in fatalities but I'm willing to bet it's a lot higher.

I let snakes live, NOT because I think they deserve to live, but because it's illegal for me to carry a shotgun most of the places that I fish.

I personally wouldn't have a problem seeing them all dead, but as long as I SEE them I won't need to worry about them getting too close to me.

Your not going to get me close enough to a snake to pick it up.

Slayer do you mind asking spiny norman what the percentages are on beaver attacks. Cause i have been known to mix them in with the snakes i shoot.
