I’d rather have a magnolia tree but they want 2 arms and 1 leg for a 2-3 Ft tree. I think they grow a foot a year.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right

Every flower from every crepe myrtle within at least 4 square miles of me blows into my pool every time the wind blows more than 10mph.

But if you keep them trimmed properly. And thinned Dont allow to many main Stems. They will make nice shrubs.

What is the proper way to trim larger Crepes? I listen to the Neil Sperry gardening segment every morning on 1340am and he rants about people topping them almost weekly. This is my first time having them. They are mature and I have 3 larger ones that are the darker red color. They are about 8-10' tall. I can tell they have been topped in the past, but they look great.

They all end up dying. May I suggest a nice variety of oak trees? Chinquapin, Monterrey and Burr are my favorites. Lacey is a nice exotic oak if you can find one.

I exposed my roots, I'm going to throw some fertilizer spikes down to see what happens.

Yes sir, vitex are very nice! They will bloom twice if you cut the flowers in July by the way.

If you continue to cut the spent blooms, I’ve had them go all the way through October

Smell really good too

Makes a good brush pile when trimmed. smile cheers
