I typically like fishing for big blues in the fall/winter. And I am decent at finding them. I decided to do some summer catfishing this past week and just got skunked. I could use some help locating the fish. I was fishing lake brownwood in the afternoon/evening and fished everything from timber in less than 5ft out to 20ft in rocky areas. I was using cut shad/perch and live perch, and would set up for an hour before moving spots. I didnt even get a bite! Do I need to try deeper water? Thanks for any advice.

I'll start by saying I've never fished Lake Brownwood and never been on the lake. Looking at a contour map it looks like it has depths of 60' and current water temps are upper 70's. I would be fishing in water deeper than 20' this time of year. I would look for main lake points and fish at the bottom of those points. Here are a couple of spots I would try.
You get out of it what you put into it!
