Is this store worth the drive form Dallas?
Just curious if they have a large selection?

Oh yeah all the rods in stock in the back. Just call ahead and ask if you are looking for a specific one.

I haven't been to the Sulpher Springs facility but when they were running their business out of Yuba City CA it was WELL WORTH the hour-plus drive for me. Not only was I able to hold each and every rod I was considering, I would call ahead and make sure Gary and/or Richard were around to answer any questions that came up. I looked forward to doing it once a year.

I have been there 2 times...I live in Sulphur Springs.I called first before going to be sure the rod(s) I wanted were in stock. Very nice people and a good sized storage facility with a desk or two out front in the lobby area. Plenty of room for boat parking if you want to stop by on the way to the lake. You pay them at the front desk. Also a great way to look at several rods you might be considering and to get some expert advice!

You can exit I 30 just west of Sulphur Springs at the Hwy 67 business route (watch closely for the exit because it's not very big) and go across the overpass. Follow it around towards Sulphur Springs until you come to a small business park on your right. I believe CMH is the first street on the right and Dobyns is then on the right side. If you go past the mobile home factory you have passed it...

This is not a store. It's the HQ, Warehouse, Distribution Center and the Donut Shack aka Gary's Office. While there may be some rods sold from time to time to individuals, it's the exception and not the norm. I highly recommend coming to see the shop but never go on a Monday and always call ahead to see if there is time for someone to show you around. And again, its not a retail store so don't go expecting that.

Was just there (thanks befuddled for exact directions). Lots of rods on display. First time I have seen their "XTASY" line of rods. $550 is too expensive for me but a very nice rod! According to the guy I talked to there, these rods have serial numbers that are registered so they know exactly who has them.
