Been out of the catfish game for about 3 years and decided to dust off the gear and get my line stretched. Not asking for specific spots just what lakes. I will be fishing from the bank. Thanks.

I am afraid it is getting too late for bank fishing as most catfish seem to be going to deeper water on the larger lakes. You might try flooded timber on Lake Grapevine.

I was afraid of that. The heat does tend to push them deep and somewhat inactive. Bank access is very limited at Grapevine due to the water being almost 9 feet up.

Try fishing riprap early before it gets hot. There is a major period early tomorrow morning.

Last week as I pedaled up to boat ramp saw a guy standing there. Then another guy surfaced. They were noodling off side of ramp. I got my yak out and I looked back and they were taking pics of about twenty pounder.
Maybe a big ole perch as bait might do the trick.

Yesterday, tried to fish cats on Lake Livingston. Nothing have gotten in shallow water, the water was very warm. In deep water (~22-24 feet) could catch only 4 middle size blues for my family dinner for ~3 h. Now cats are slow in my lake area.

Speaking of deep water, I've got a pier I'm going to try very soon and on the end of the pier it's 45' of water.
Just one more cast!
