I've had two large claims paid by Progressive without any problems. But my agent is Bob at Worldwide Marine Insurers and he's about as hands on as any agent I've ever known. You should give him a call when you make the change. I use Bob also. If you are having a problem with an adjuster call him and he will help you.
Retirement best job ever.

I had progressive years ago while living in Hawaii and had a boat catch fire a few months after I got it and they wouldn't cover it, and told me it was owner neglect.

Progressive just screwed me big time as well. They will never get another dime from this guy. The Claims guy was rude as hell and the supervisor over my adjuster tried arguing with me about what caused the failure then asked me if it was an inboard or outboard. Seriously??? What a joke.

Progressive did a great job when a uninsured, unlicensed illegal ran a stop and hit my ex. The illegal even had the gonads to hire one of the top ranked injury lawyers. Cops wrote up the accident report wrong and put ex on the wrong street. Progressive went to bat and while the thing dragged out for a month they got my car paid for under uninsured motorist. They said the other party might still try to sue and if so just call them they will handle it.

I am going through my second claim with Progressive right now, the first one went smooth and it seems the second one will too, had Progressive call me yesterday following up to see if I had any questions since the adjuster had came and looked at my boat. no complaints with them yet.

Yep. I was an adjuster there at one time, not for boats though. They should have to prove it wasnt related, not vice versa. They dont want to hear the words insurance commission/board. Theyll pay I think, they need some motivation sometimes.

I have had Foremost through my Farmers agent and have had 2 claims, each handled very well and to my satisfaction. Mt agent is Dillon Lee, who is also a fisherman. Very competitive price!

Progressive also denied my lower unit claim. I hit and underwater bridge, bent 3 blades on prop and dealership agreed with me. Claim adjuster said wear and tear because the main shaft broke. It did break after I idled about 1/2 mile. First claim in about 16 years with progressive. I am shopping for a new company now

Having my first claim ever. Adjuster wants them to break it down so he can see it. The shop broke it down and took pictures but he wants to look at it for himself. The shop told the adjuster what they thought caused the damage If the adjuster does not do what I think is right I will call my agent and ask for another adjuster to take a look. I just do not have a good feeling about what is going on at the present time.

I had State Farm and they were great through two legit claims. First one my outboard caught fire and melted all the stuff in the back end of the motor and a second time some [censored] decided he deserved my trolling motor more than I did. Problem is that as soon as they paid out the second one they dumped me and said I was a high risk. Ridiculous as I was with them 16 years but whatever. Blew my outboard after that and have been off water a while just got it back up and going. Looking for new insurance carrier. I am guessing progressive is questionable. Who has one they really like and trust

Bob at worldwide marine insured several boats of mine. Had a few claims over the years and never had anything but smooth claims and was clearly cheaper than many others.
