Howdy! Anyone recently have any good trips in Matagorda, Espiruto Santo, or San Antonio Bays? Are the trout on the deep summer reef pattern yet? Hope to report after my trip this weekend.

We decided last night to head there this weekend. I'd be interested to know too.

We went to Matagorda a few weeks ago but it was the day after they had 14 inches of rain just north of there. Fishing was tough, water wasn't salty at all and the bay looked like yoo-hoo. They had a tournament that weekend and limits were fairly scare.

I heard last week though the trout bite was on using live croaker. The surf is hot if the waves are wadable. Forecast looks good. I'll either be there or down Corpus way. Haven't decided yet.

Shannon Tompkins wrote a article in the Houston Chronicle about the specks loading up near the passes with all the fresh water in the bays. I'd try the POC jetties.
