You will need a closet full of Huk gear if you expect to catch fish.

Come on now, give the guy a break. Yeah things have changed but fish still bite the old stuff. Dust off the rod and real get some bargain bin Stren line and throw a plum power bait on a Texas rig and get your line jerked. All will be right with the world and it didn't cost you a $1,000.00 to do it. That will come later after you catch that first fish.

Buddy I was looking at houses a few weeks ago in your neck of the woods and was wondering about ya! Glad to hear you will be back around fishing, lots to catch up on. Don't worry I haven't kept up with a lot of the new stuff either and am still catching fish out of my 98 Cat. I will say one really good push forward in the industry you need to look at is the Ultrex with the spotlock, yeah I know shallow water guy, but hell man if I want to sit down and retie or eat a sandwich that spot lock will be nice, LOL Good to hear from ya!

Best reels made for the money in my fishing lifetime. I have 20 of the Curado 200E7's with 4 of them still brand new in the box.

I think of it as $5 to launch and $15 to not get robbed and/or murdered.

Actually yes, when I decided to build another aluminum rig I snagged a used one time Fortrex 112 for the paltry sum of $500 it looked like new. I asked why are you selling this and the answer was look at an Ultrex and you'll see.

Still haven't looked at one but I will get around to it.

2nd lake test on my little rig this morning, have some bugs to address. I got wet in the small white caps on hubbard so thats an issue I will have to deal with. I about have it balanced for fishing tho. After running around this morning I am really jonesing to wet a line. [Linked Image]

I will make a project video to show the build later.
