Headed to beaver in a month for several days. Never fished on it and, sadly, I’ve never caught a smallmouth before. Looking to change that. I’m very unfamiliar with fishing DEEP lakes with good visibility. Any pointers would be great for an offshore attack. Thanks.
If you can't find em wind em.

Chompers finesse worm in plum (color #31) rigged on a drop shot, is all you need to know. Use a 3/8 or 1/2 oz weight and 8lb flouro carbon with a 1-O drop shot hook. Set the hook at 1' above the weight. Look for points, brush piles and ledges with fish in about 20' to 25' of water, simply drop the bait in and jiggle it. They will load up and you will simply just reel fast with a slight rod sweep for a hook set. The hook will penetrate the fish's mouth very easily. Don't try and set the hook as if your Texas Rigging.

Great! Thank you! Can I expect to find some schools on a lake like Beaver?

There should be a topwater bite early in the AM and maybe at dusk. Look for the schools on your graph and go back early or late. It is a LONG winding lake, so be careful. The boat ramp is also a good place to fish for all kinds of fish, too. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.''
