Does it being 3'' shorter "stiffen" it up a bit, I find that 7'8" 784 to be JUST right...

I love my Champion 744 "I have 3 of them" def my favorite rod for any open water jig or big worm. The 735 is great for heavier jigs

I ended up ordering a 745 Champion Extreme and another 735 Fury for small swimbaits. Karls tackle is having 10% off for Fathers Day so ended up getting $50 off!

The rods mentioned will get the job done very well. I like the 784 probably the best for flipping and pitching, but what do I know. LOL. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

736 is a great frog and Heavy flipping/punching rod. IMO, too stiff for big shakey head and football head jig. the 734 is a great football jig and big shakey head rod. 735 works, too- just a little heavier for bigger line and vegetation. If you stick to the middle and get the 735 I bet you will be extremely pleased with it's performance. This ^^^^ is right on. I use the 736 with 65# braid and a 1 oz weight for punching thick grass. There is a HUGE difference between the tip action of a 784 and the 736. The 784 Extreme is my favorite rod for the Carolina rig. I use the 745 Extreme for heavy jigs, heavy shaky heads and flutter spoons.

it's a good rod . I personally like using the sierra series 766 flip. I have 4 of them and two of the older savvy series 766 flip rods. but I like a stout rod. I use it for a big worms, 1 oz. jigs and my carolina rigs and feel everything the bait comes in contact with.
