That appears to be a knife that is a bit bigger than a steak knife. Either way, very close encounter.

Been around alligators most of my life, frequently in close quarters. Unless they threw the knife whoever did this was dumb. Gators can move deceptively fast

Apparently not fast enough to escape the wrath of manther.

To remove it might take another "here, hold my beer" moment, or some professional handler.

Well see, what happened was, I thought it was injured so I was going to cut its head off and throw it in the lake, but after I started I realized he was just sleeping, and angry.

correction, the manther would have made the gator make him some boots and a belt along with a purse for the wife.
