OK, so I have the ultrex motor and bought the mount that goes with it. There are problems with this, first being that I cannot reach out easily and grab it, second the arrow is so small that it is hard to see. Additionally even though the mount is not hooked to the shaft of the motor it turns with the current, so unless I stand up, lean over and fish with one arm on the fishing pole and one arm on the turning mechanism I cannot get a consistent picture. I am looking for a new way to mount this thing to my boat, but because it is new I would rather not screw anything to it. Additionally there is not much room. I just ran across a clamping system, but it looks like I am going to have to do some work to it. Here is a pic of the front of my boat. Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Here at shut-up-and-fish we offer the PoleDucer. It is versatile in mounting in many ways. Here is a good option that may work for you. One option we use is mounting the PoleDucer directly to the Ultrex trolling motor.

Chris, this poleducer is exactly what I have on my boat. You will just be attaching the RAM mount to the side of your trolling motor. It will work the same. Love mine. It stays on point and you can make the turning handle as long or short as you want.

Can you mount that base on the side of an Xi5?

RGR that. If my little project from today does not work well (Will find out tomorrow) I will prob take a look at yours. I just do not want it mounted all the time, but it has to be able for me to put in a rod box. I also cannot take the wires loose to move really easy as I have the black box in one accessory compartment running through the wall to the front of the boat then I have it and power coming from around my trolling motor. So to make it totally removable I will have to do some rearranging. I have it small enough when broken down on a PVC pipe that I can store it in the rod box and not hurt the wires. I think anyway, tomorrow is the test.
