Its amazing to me to watch folks running across stump fields wide open. I see it all the time especially since the waters up. I'm thinking to myself maybe they just don't know. If you don't know asked. If you do know good luck to you.

Its amazing to me on Rayburn that people still run around the timber with the water up. I passed several boats at the last BFL cause they were running like the lake was below full pool.

I ran boat ramp to boat ramp at Pinkston on plane all the time. Never hit anything. But Mike Metcalf taught me how to run it or I would have never attempted it. Loved that little lake but haven't been back in years, so I sure as heck wouldn't try and make that run today.

If you are talking about the stump field east of the CFR, there actually is a channel that runs through them. I personally don't know how to run it and don't care to know, but the locals do. They fly through there 60mph like nothing. Only place I run on pad in that lake is from the CFR along the known channel to the public ramp. Any where else though, shut her down..

Pinkston is a very cool lake. Id watch one guy do it regularly, and it always left me scratching my head.

No there actually is not a channel. I saw the lake when it was 5-6 foot low and timber EVERYWHERE in that area. I used to think there was a channel and ran it every trip. Until I saw it that low. Never again.

Yep.. anytime i try to get over to that outlet, no matter what I'll knock a stump. Doesn't matter which variation of directions i take, you'll knock a few. Honestly I don't even bother anymore trying to go east, I just fish that hump and the west side of the lake. Caught plenty of 5-6lbs out of there. One was a 7.5 off the hump on a Texas rig

Well theres some route through there the locals take.. I go up there pretty often and stay a few days, and regularaly see them on pad through there. But, it's the curviest, craziest "route" I've seen. I'm talking, these guys will be hauling [censored] one way, and then make a 180 in a different direction, then go sideways and upside down, just all over the place.
I love that lake.. I've caught more quality fish out of there than Rayburn and all the others. Such a fun lake. I think it's very underrated, but that's fine.. keep it that way!

I grew up fishing Pinkston and if you had seen it as a new lake you might never get on pad. That was the good old days. If you saw 3 boats that was packed. You could catch 30 to 40 easy on what ever you wanted to fish. The fence rows still had the wire on them. They were a killer place to fish.
