Hey pass, we were using GULP! in new penny. Caught 2 nice specks today and some more flounder, but It looks like they are starting to slow down and specks are moving in. Had several alligators running off my fish today. I will be out again next weekend with report to follow.

Hey ritch, what area of the river are you fishing? I'm not asking you to give up a spot, but I'm from across the Neches from you and will probably be heading into Sabine Lake in a few weeks. I went about 3 weeks ago, but it was extremely windy and I couldn't find any birds working and only managed some croakers and hardheads.
I usually launch in Orange, hit the "hot ditch" for some shad, then look around the islands for birds first.
